Cross-Country Skiing
Enjoy the area's scenic winter landscape on cross-country
skis. You can ski an easier trek around Suttle Lake,
or blaze trails of your own in surrounding forests.
Hoodoo Ski Resort, just up the road from us, also
offers Nordic cross-country trails.
Downhill Skiing
Just 10 minutes west of
Suttle Lake, nearby Hoodoo Ski Resort offers a multitude
of excellent downhill skiing trails for your pleasure.
They even offer nighttime skiing. Enjoy your day skiing,
but bring your appetite back! Our Boathouse Restaurant's panoramic views enable you
to enjoy your gourmet meal while
you look out onto our snow-covered lake and pine trees. Mt. Bachelor, a favorite Central Oregon ski resort,
is about 60 miles from us.
Nesting
Our serene winter landscape, combined with the
luxurious yet rustic cabins and new lodge provide
you with endless nesting possibilities. Start
a fire. Bring a book and read by the warming
fire. Snuggle under a blanket while you gaze
outside at the pristine scenery. Enjoy a hot
bubble bath midday, just because you can. Our
guest suites will inspire you to nest in
many ways.
Shopping
On Highway 20, just twenty miles east of The Lodge
at Suttle Lake you will find Sisters, Oregon.
A wonderful variety of locally-owned craft and
antique shops in this quaint, Western-Style town
is offers you an entertaining day of activity,
exploring and shopping. Or, visit nearby Bend's
scenic Mill District on the Deschutes River for
a great day of shopping and sightseeing.
Snowmobiling
For the more adventurous, the Deschutes Forest
is a playground for those who like to snowmobile.
Areas very close to the lake are available for
this activity.
Snowshoeing
A crisp winter's day, and a quiet snow-covered
forest. For those of you nostalgic for simpler
times, why not rent a pair of snowshoes from our front desk and take a hike right in our backyard around our lake or on some beautiful mountain trails.
